Conditional sentence means a conditional sentence. This sentence can be used to express cause and effect, the possibility of something happening, or to express presuppositions for things that are not actually possible. There are 4 types of conditional sentences, each of which uses a different tense. However, basically all conditional sentences consist of an if clause and a main clause.

a. Conditional sentence type 0
Conditional sentence type 0 is used to state the cause and effect of a fact that is generally known to be true. If event A occurs, it will cause thing,
Conditional sentence tipe 0 digunakan untuk menyatakan sebab akibat akan sebuah fakta yang sudah umum diketahui kebenarannya. Jika hal A terjadi, maka akan menyebabkan hal.

If+ simple present tense, simple present tense
Simple present tense + if + simple present tense
Examples :
1. If it rains, the roads get wet
(jika hujan, jalanan menjadi basah)
2. The roads get wet when it rains
(jalanan menjadi basah ketika hujan)
b. Conditional Sentence type 1
Conditional sentence type 1 is used to express something that is very likely to happen in the future if we do something.
Conditional sentence tipe 1 digunakan untuk mengekspresikan suatu hal yang sangat besar kemungkinannya terjadi di waktu yang akan datang jika kita melakukan sesuatu.
Formula
If + simple present tense, simple future tense.
Simple future tense + if + simple present tense.
Examples :
If you go now, you will arrive there on time
(jika kamu pergi sekarang, kamu akan tiba disana tepat waktu).
I will buy a new bike if I pass the exam
(saya akan membeli sepeda baru, jika saya lulus ujian).
c. Conditional sentences type 2
Used to express something that is unrealistic or very unlikely to happen. Therefore, this type is suitable for expressing our dreams.
Digunakan untuk mengungkapkan sesuatu yang tidak realistis atau sangat kecil kemungkinannya untuk terjadi. Karena itu, tipe ini cocok untuk menyatakan angan-angan kita.
Formula :
If + simple past, s + would + V1
Present conditional + if + simple past
Examples :
If I were him, I would buy an expansive car
(Kalau aku jadi dia, aku akan membeli mobil yang mahal)
I wish I could go to New York
(aku berharap aku bisa pergi ke New York).
d. Conditional sentence type 3
It is used to convey assumptions about events that have occurred in the past. Since it has already happened and cannot be changed in reality, we can only state what will happen if the event is different from reality.
Digunakan untuk menyampaikan pengandaian atas kejadian yang sudah terjadi di masa lalu. Karena sudah terjadi dan tidak bisa diubah lagi kenyataannya, kita hanya bisa mengungkapkan pengandaian apa yang akan terjadi jika kejadian tersebut berjalan berbeda dari kenyataan.Formula

Examples :
If he had studied in university, he would have become a great techer
(jika dulu dia belajar di unversitas, dia akan menjadi guru yang hebat)
I wouldn’t have been here if hehad not saved me
(aku tidak akan berada disini jika dia tidak menyelamatkanku)
